CCA is regarded as an important part of the IB. In the course setting, we set the CCA course time after 16:30 every day. During this time, students can participate in a variety of project activities, better enjoy campus life, explore knowledge other than books, and prepare for the future University applications and studies.
At present, we offer CCA in arts and sports, humanities and social sciences, science, language studies, including ballet, musicals, photography and directing, taekwondo, boxing, psychology, computer, IELTS, TOEFL, Japanese, French, etc. At the same time, students can choose to participate in the school-based courses and clubs of Guangzhou Foreign Language School. In addition, we will also provide competition guidance to students.
In order to help freshmen adapt to the IB, we offer Summer Bridging Program for freshmen every year.
The Bridging Program provides students with various courses such as English, drama, economics and business, outdoor activities, micro-films, ESL, and art. We cultivate students' independent thinking habits, critical thinking, and cross-cultural communication skills, and guide students to become lifelong learners.
During the interdisciplinary week, the students visited enterprises, conducted field research. From the perspective of different disciplines, they used mathematical modeling, economic modeling, chemical technology , artistic creation, and other research methods, carry out multi-dimensional analysis and evaluation of the same subject, combine theory and practice, and express their concern and love for the society.
In ISA Wenhua Drama Festival, students use different languages to interpret stories of different themes. The story is either derived from classics or originals, but from the formation and rehearsal of the script to the later publicity and ticket sales, the students are all done by themselves.
In IB's educational philosophy, students are equally important whether they are in front of the stage or behind the scenes, And in drama education, students not only experience the charm of drama, but also improve their communication skills and overall planning skills, which are valuable assets for the future of the students.
Every ISA Festival, students, teachers, and parents of the ISA Wenhua Guangzhou Foreign Language School IB programme will gather with ISA community members, as well as people from all walks of life, such as consulates, chambers of commerce, well-known enterprises, etc., to gather at ISA Science City School to donate to charity.
